Magical Keeper Jessica! (マジカルキーパージェシカ Majikarukīpājeshika) is a Magical Girl anime series. The series has gained popularity even before it's premeir do to the many trailers and promotion campain. The series is made by Toei Animation and written by CureSailorMoon1617.

The series centers around Ellen Junjō as she discovers her magic powers and makes new friends. The series has lots of pop culture references to other animes and TV series but maintains an atmosphere of drama and fantasy. The series has comedy and romance as another genre as well as themes of love and friendship.

Plot

Ellen Junjō is an ordinary 13 year old girl who just started her 1st year of middle school and enjoying life. She soon discovers she has magic powers when she first meets girl with wings named Liana.

Ellen Junjō (エレン 純情  Eren Junjō ) / Magical Keeper Jessica ( マジカルキーパージェシカ Majikarukīpājeshika )

Ellen is a 13 year old girl in her first year of middle school and a huge fan of anime and manga. She is a sweet and smart young girl who is full of dreams and pure of heart. She has a great love for magical girls and super heros, as shoujo and shonen titles. Her favorite mangaka is Arina Tanemura and she is a fan of Studio Ghibli films, she also love works from Toei Animation and loves to read Nakayoshi magazine. She gets really stresed at times and can sometimes be a real crybaby.

Lucy Howaitohezā (ルーシーホワイトヘザー Rūshīhowaitohezā) / Liana (リアナ Riana)

Lucy has just moved to Tokyo from New York and transferred into Ellen's school. She appears to be an ordinary 12 year old girl but a is actually a Winged Mystical Being named Liana. She has been assigned as Ellen's protector and is searching for her missing partner. She is a sweet and clumsy young girl who is often late for school as Lucy. She is a strong and serious young women who never gives up as Liana.

Junjo Family

Alex Junjo ( アレックス純情 Arekkusu junjō )

He is the older brother of Ellen and has best friend named Cindy.  He is a smart and kind young man who is very talented and athletic as well.  He loves drama anime and manga, he also love Tokusatsus very much too. He has brown hair, green eyes, and is 16 years old.  He is in his first year of high school and sometimes seems a little selfish.

Cindy Ryūkōmahō 

She is Alex's childhood and best friend.  She is an elegent and beautiful young girl who is smart and wise.  It is hinted that she has feelings for Alex but is always dening it.  She has short light red hair and green eyes, Ellen considers her a Yamoto Nadeshiko  because of her beauty and grace.  She is hinted to know more then she lets on about magic.  She seems to not like and be featrful of Lucy for some unkown reason.

Production

The series is being produced and animated by Toei Animation.  The series is such a big project that animators, writers, directors, producers, and voice actors and actresses from all over Japan.  A secret preveiw episode is set to air on TV in December as part of the promotion.  Ticket contests are being held to see a private screening of the first 6 episodes also in december.

Disney has already licensed the series before it even premiers.  Disney plans to dub the series with no editing done because of it's child friendly demeanor and has so much action and adventure that it can appeal to all audiences.  The series will premier on US television in April.  The show will premier in US at the same time as the american release of Gargoyles DN , which is an anime adaptation of the original tv series Gargoyles from the 90's.
